Blizzard of 2009 in Denver

Cooper and I came home on Wednesday afternoon from our Spring Break excursion to Moab. Mom was here with Aaron and they were forcasting snow for Denver for Thursday. She made it out on a 6 AM flight, but little did we know that it would turn into 1.5 feet of snow in Golden! Cooper worked from home on Thursday and Friday. When Aaron was napping on Friday, we went out and shoveled. Cooper used the snow shovel and I used the backcountry skiing shovel. Together we made quite a team.

Spring Break with Oma

My mom (Oma) flew in from Houston for a few days for my Spring Break. She took care of Aaron while Cooper and I spent a few days in Moab, Utah climbing, hiking, and biking. They had a good time hanging out in Golden. They went on walks by the creek, went to the mall, and just relaxed at the house. She made it back to Texas just in time before the blizzard of '09 hit Denver yesterday.

She brought Aaron a bunny that he really likes.

He wore his Texas A&M sweat shirt out to dinner. Oma and Papa bought it for him.

March Pics of Aaron

He is all dressed up and ready to go out on the town in yet another outfit from Uncle Mick.

Air guitar???
Aaron is eating baby food at night, which makes quite the mess.

He is able to sit up by himself for brief periods of time. He and Dad were playing with toys in his room.

"Northern Exposure" in Leadville

We spent Saturday and Sunday in Leadville, which is a small mountain town with an elevation of 10,430 ft. On Saturday, they had an event called Ski Journing. This is where Main Street is turned into a snow slalom course and skiers are pulled by horses. We bundled up Aaron in his down suit and watched this event. The high for the day was about 20 degrees. Aaron had to get some new sunglasses at the mountain shop.

On Sunday, we went cross country skiing around Turquoise Lake just outside of town. It was a really beautiful day. As an added bonus, a random snow mobile operator was hanging out at the lake letting people take his snow mobiles for a spin around the frozen lake. Cooper and I each got to take a turn.

March

We went to tour Coors over the weekend for a friend's birthday. Aaron went along. He is very content in his Baby Bjorn.

Aaron wore his coat that Uncle Mick gave him. He looked very cute.

I got a used "naughty chair" from a co-worker. Although he is too young now, his time will come! Very appropriately, Orange Cat Aspen was the first to try it out.

Aaron loves to "help cook" while sitting in his Bumbo. He is now eating some baby food at night. So far bananas, applesauce, and sweet potatoes have been a hit and green peas have not!

Another smile!
