Aaron's New "Bike"

Aaron got a new "bike" over the weekend. It's a little big, but he will grow into it. So far, he loves to push it and he calls it his "car". Mom got rather frustrated putting it together, so Dad had to finish it when he got home.

Pure determination...

We went out to Pallisade, CO over the weekend. Cooper ran a 1/2 marathon in Pallisade on Saturday morning. Then, we toured several of the many wineries in the area. We were able to do a little wine tasting while Aaron munched on crackers and cheese. On Sunday, we did a hike near Fruita, CO. We thought it was about 6 miles, but it was a bad map and ended up being more like 8 miles. We were all tired at the end, but we made it! Aaron was a tropper napping in his backpack. The camping was less than perfect-a freight train and I-70 running through camp-but we still had a great time relaxing by the Colorado River. It was a great Mother's Day Weekend. Aaron even brought be flowers on Friday before we left. He was very proud when he handed them to me.

Spring Hut Trip

We went to Chuck's Cabin, a hut near Vail Pass this weekend. There were several kids who were "towed in". Some of the people had snowmobiles to tow in the gear. There was a lot of snow for May. The hut was total luxury compared to most of the backcountry places we have been to. It had running water and electricity!
