"Northern Exposure" in Leadville

We spent Saturday and Sunday in Leadville, which is a small mountain town with an elevation of 10,430 ft. On Saturday, they had an event called Ski Journing. This is where Main Street is turned into a snow slalom course and skiers are pulled by horses. We bundled up Aaron in his down suit and watched this event. The high for the day was about 20 degrees. Aaron had to get some new sunglasses at the mountain shop.

On Sunday, we went cross country skiing around Turquoise Lake just outside of town. It was a really beautiful day. As an added bonus, a random snow mobile operator was hanging out at the lake letting people take his snow mobiles for a spin around the frozen lake. Cooper and I each got to take a turn.
